Benoit Vittori.
Registered Nurse. B.N, M.PH.
Twelve years in emergency rooms, cancer wards and community nursing have taught me how closely housing and health are connected. I am a Registered Nurse with a Master of Public Health (2025), now based back in Launceston after seven years living and working in Switzerland.
During that time overseas, I experienced how alternative housing models, especially medium-density and community-oriented developments, can offer long-term affordability without compromising liveability. That experience, combined with my public health training, reinforced my view that secure housing plays a vital role in individual and community well-being.
Through The Verandah Project, I am drawing on both clinical experience and international exposure to support practical, community-based solutions. I know this work is challenging, but I believe that with the right mix of practical thinking and local insight, we can do things differently in Tasmania.
