The Impact.

We're honest about where we're at: The Verandah Project is early days, and we don't have a decade of finished buildings to point to yet. What we do have is a clear picture of the difference this model makes — and the evidence, from home and abroad, that it works.

When housing is done this way, the ripples reach a long way past the front door:

• Stability that lasts. Permanently affordable homes mean families can put down roots — kids stay in the same school, people stay near work and support networks.
• Money back in people's pockets. Lower housing costs free up income for the essentials, and keep more of it circulating in the local economy.
• Stronger, better-connected communities. Shared spaces and co-operative governance turn neighbours into a genuine support network — less isolation, more looking out for one another.
• Flow-on wins across the board. Secure housing lifts outcomes in health, education, and employment. It's a foundation, and everything else builds on top of it.
• A model others can follow. Get it right here, and Tasmania can show regional Australia — and beyond — a better way to house people.

Right now, our impact is measured in conversations started, partnerships formed, and minds changed. That's the groundwork. The homes come next — and when they do, we'll measure what matters and report it plainly.
