Luke Pendergast

Luke Pendergast is a multi-disciplinary designer and strategist with over a decade of experience working across Tasmania's not-for-profit, public, and private sectors. With a background in architecture, design, and systems thinking, Luke brings a deeply place-based, people-centred approach to complex social and spatial challenges.

Based in Launceston, Luke has partnered with organisations ranging from grassroots community groups to national brands — supporting them to communicate with clarity, design with purpose, and create impact through thoughtful strategy. His work is grounded in the belief that design is a powerful tool for meaningful change, especially when led by local knowledge and community values.

Through expertise in stakeholder engagement, creative problem solving, and collaborative design, Luke contributes to projects that bridge disciplines and build long-term value. As part of The Verandah Project, he brings a strong commitment to equity, trust-building, and reimagining housing as community infrastructure. His practice is defined by care, vision, and a belief in working collectively to shape more resilient futures.
